March for Justice

Here in Australia we are reflecting today on the awesome solidarity displayed by women yesterday in the “March for Justice” rallies around the country.

Women are quite rightly calling for change not only to deal with the appalling ongoing incidents of sexual harassment and assault, but also the total failure by most men (especially politicians) to take the issue seriously and make the changes that are so desperately needed.

I can only encourage women to continue to step up and demand change. You have my full support. I only wish more men would truly listen to survivors and advocates, and ask themselves why they aren’t absolutely outraged by what has occurred.

Men – you can start by reading what Grace Tame, Brittany Higgins and Janine Hendry have said in the past week or so, and ask yourself what you can do to help.
